M. Danielle Atchley, DNP, FNP-C, CPN, is a board-certified nurse practitioner who is joining The Family Clinic this Spring 2021. Atchley was raised in Starkville, Mississippi, where she graduated from Starkville Academy in 2004. She began her college career path at Mississippi State University while simultaneously working in healthcare clinics in Starkville, MS. Atchley obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2009 and Masters of Science in Nursing (FNP) in 2014 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s School of Nursing. At UMC, Atchley worked as a nurse for five years at Mississippi’s only children’s hospital. She and her husband lived in Philadelphia, PA, while her husband completed his Anesthesia residency, and she obtained her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2019 at Thomas Jefferson University College of Nursing.

While in Philadelphia, PA, Atchley spent time working at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and participating in quality improvement projects. Atchley has been named a Rural Health Fellow Student by the Mississippi Rural Health Association and has conducted research in the Mississippi Delta focusing on improving health outcomes for those receiving care at a school-based health center. Atchley worked on research projects in Philadelphia, PA, centered on school-based health centers which were in areas serving children designated as lower-income. Additionally, Atchley was selected for the competitive Carpenter Community Nursing Fellowship in Philadelphia, PA, which was a Fellowship focused on improving health outcomes for those living in poverty in urban communities.

Atchley has educated BSN nursing and graduate FNP students and has taught as an adjunct professor and clinical assistant professor. Of recent, Atchley has had peer-reviewed publications regarding primary care practice / orthopedics in healthcare journals such as The Nurse Practitioner. Atchley’s clinical experiences as a Nurse Practitioner surround urology/gynecology, orthopedics, and primary care.

She is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Mississippi Rural Health Association, and American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Atchley hopes to continue her pursuits within the Starkville community to improve health outcomes for her patients.
