Lisa Tomlin, CFNP
Lisa Tomlin, MSN, ARNP, FNP first joined the Family Clinic staff as nurse practitioner in 2001. As a military spouse, she has since been licensed to practice in six states. She and her husband are natives of nearby Lamar County, Alabama, and upon his military retirement, they have chosen to settle in Starkville. She rejoined the Family Clinic staff in July of 2015.
Mrs. Tomlin is a 1993 honors graduate of the MIssissippi State University College of Arts and Sciences with a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. In 1994, she furthered her studies and obtained a second Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Tennessee, Memphis - Health Science Center with honors. She was certified as a registered Cytotechnologist through the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and worked in the field of pathology for three years.
In the year 2000, Mrs. Tomlin received her Masters of Nursing degree from Vanderbilt University School of Nursing in Nashville, TN. She is board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and she has been licensed to practice in Tennessee, Mississippi, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, and Texas. She has a wide variety of experiences including family practice, internal medicine, geriatrics, diabetes management, consulting, hospital medicine, and research. She has served as a nursing preceptor for the University of Kansas and the University of Missouri - Kansas City. She has lectured on diabetes education and management for multiple medical surgical conferences. She is a former board certified Diabetes Educator and she enjoys helping her patients manage their chronic diseases.
Lisa and her husband Bill now reside in Starkville with their two children Will, a student at Mississippi State University, and Lizzie a student in the Starkville Public Schools. She is happy to be back in Starkville permanently, and looks forward to caring for both new and former patients of all ages.
