Based on recommendations from the CDC, MS State Department of Health and others, we are delaying non-urgent appointments that physically take place at the clinic. With recent policy changes we are now allowed to “see” you by phone or video and we encourage you to keep your visits! This is recommended not only so we can discuss your chronic conditions or acute illnesses, but also to discuss your concerns and our recommendations regarding Coronavirus. A video visit is strongly preferred, but phone calls are acceptable in certain situations. In clinic visits ARE still available, whether they are in the building or outside, but telehealth is encouraged until further notice.

Beginning June 1, 2020 we will utilize as our telehealth service platform.

Dr. Brandon will offer telehealth visits from 9:00 am to 11:30 am

Dr. Landrum will offer telehealth visits from 1:00 pm to 4:15 pm

Jennifer Summers will offer telehealth visits from 1:00 pm to 4:15 pm

What you should know and do before your telehealth visit:

  • You can use any device that has a camera and microphone. This can be a smartphone, tablet or computer/laptop.
  • It's best to be in a location that has good internet service.
  • If the connection is not stable enough to proceed with your visit, we may try to utilize a non-secure video call using FaceTime or Google Duo or may use a regular phone call.
  • If the doctor or nurse practitioner cannot fully assess your complaint during your telehealth visit, they will schedule a time for you to come to the clinic safely.
  • Near the time of your appointment the nurse will call you to confirm your medications and obtain your history. Once this occurs you may sign into the waiting room of your provider (see instructions below).
  • See Dr. Landrum's YouTube page for instructional videos on how to use
  • Have your medications or medication list ready to review with the nurse. Know what refills you need.
  • If you have a blood pressure cuff and/or thermometer, check these measures and be prepared to provide them.
  • If you are diabetic have your blood sugar log ready to review.
  • We are making every effort to stick to our schedule, but please be patient as this is a work in progress. If you have an appointment for the day, we will keep it on that day unless you need it to be rescheduled.
  • You should always contact us at our main phone number for instructions if you have questions or needs after hours.

Regarding coverage of these services by your insurance company:

On March 16, 2020 the Mississippi State Insurance Commissioner signed into effect procedures to remove certain limitations on telemedicine in Mississippi due to the state of emergency declared by Governor Reeves. As a result, the following limitations applicable to telemedicine services are hereby suspended until April 30, 2020: 1. Any limitation on the use of audio-only telephonic consultations; 2. Any requirement by a health insurance or employee benefit plan that limits coverage to health care providers in the plan's telemedicine network. It is indended by the Commissioner that mental health services provided by telemedicine consultation be covered to the same extent that the services would be covered if they were provided through in-person consultation; 3. Any requirement by a health insurance or employee benefit plan that limits coverage to provider consultations only. It is indeded by the Commissioner that telemedicine consultations between a patient and a provider be covered, and that they be covered to the same extent that the services would be covered if they were provided through in-person consultation. The Commissioner directs insurers to comply with the provisions of this Bulletin immediately and continue thereafter through April 30, 2020, at which time the Commissioner will reassess the situation.

As of May 31, 2020 all major insurance carriers are allowed and intend to allow telehealth visits until June 30, 2020.
